Key Responsibilities
1、Financial Reporting & Controls
1) Oversee timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
2) Ensure financial statements are bank-ready, management-ready, and audit-ready
3) Support lender reporting, due diligence, and financing discussions with high-quality, reliable data
4) Partner closely with Operations to explain variances between margin, yield, inventory movements, operational efficiency, and cash flow
2、Banking & Financing
1) Lead and manage all Canadian banking relationships
2) Negotiate and oversee Operating Lines / Revolving Credit, Equipment Financing / Term Loans, and Seasonal Working Capital
3) Act as the primary counterpart to banks on credit facilities, renewals, terms, and covenants
4) Ensure ongoing covenant compliance and proactively manage bank expectations
3、Cash Flow & AR Management
1) Own short- and medium-term cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning
2) Actively manage Accounts Receivable (AR), including aging structure, credit limits, and collections
3) Identify cash-flow risk points and implement preventive actions before issues arise
4) Align AR and working capital management with borrowing base requirements
4、Operational Finance & Cost Optimization
1) Partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Sales to drive cost discipline and margin improvement in a commodity-based, low-margin seafood environment
2) Lead financial analysis on unit economics, including yield, shrink/mortality, logistics costs, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption
3) Identify and execute cost-reduction and efficiency initiatives across procurement, processing, inventory handling, logistics, and SG&A
4) Establish KPI frameworks linking operational performance to financial outcomes (e.g. margin vs. yield, cash vs. inventory turns)
5) Support operational decision-making with data-driven trade-off analysis (cost vs. service level, inventory vs. cash, margin vs. volume)
6) Ensure cost initiatives are operationally realistic and sustainable, not one-time accounting adjustments
7) Embed a continuous improvement mindset focused on profitability, cash preservation, and return on capital
5、Leadership & Communication
1) Lead and integrate finance teams across regions (e.g. East / West)
2) Translate complex financial, operational, and financing data into clear decision options for the CEO and management team
3) Support executive decision-making with data-driven scenarios, downside protection, and risk boundaries
4) Act as a hands-on, operations-oriented CFO who bridges numbers, execution, and business reality
6、Required Qualifications
1) CPA (Canada) or prior experience at a Big Four accounting firm (Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG)
2) Senior finance leadership experience in Canada (CFO / VP Finance / Director of Finance)
3) Hands-on experience with bank financing and lender negotiations
4) Proven ability to manage cash flow, AR, and working capital in operating-intensive businesses
7、Preferred Experience
1) Commodity industry experience, seafood strongly preferred
2) Experience in industries with high working-capital needs or seasonal volatility
3) Multi-entity, multi-location, or growth-stage company experience
4) Comfortable operating in both strategic and hands-on execution environments
Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience
