Position Overview
Altos Bank is seeking an accomplished and forward-looking Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our finance function and play a pivotal role in shaping the bank’s continued growth and long-term success. This is a hands-on executive role suited for a finance leader who thrives on both operational precision and strategic impact.
The ideal candidate has already served as a bank CFO for at least two years, bringing deep expertise in GAAP accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), capital management, interest rate risk management, and liquidity management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of the bank’s financial operations, including accounting, FP&A, balance sheet management, and regulatory reporting.
- Partner with the CEO and executive team to define and execute the strategic roadmap, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
- Oversee capital and liquidity management, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and risk frameworks.
- Develop forward-looking forecasts, models, and analytics to guide decision-making.
- Manage interest rate risk strategy and asset-liability management (ALM) to optimize earnings and stability.
- Direct and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering collaboration, analytical excellence, and accountability.
- Leverage emerging technologies — including artificial intelligence tools — to enhance productivity, reporting efficiency, and strategic insights.
- Serve as a key liaison to auditors, regulators, investors, and board committees.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as CFO of a community bank, credit union, or other financial services business.
- Excellent understanding of U.S. banking regulations, GAAP accounting, capital planning, and risk governance.
- Proven leadership in financial strategy, interest rate risk, and liquidity management.
- Demonstrated experience building and leading a high-performing finance team.
- Strategic thinker comfortable with hands-on execution in a growing, entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong communicator able to distill complex financial concepts for executives, regulators, and board members.
- Proficiency with AI-driven tools for financial planning, analytics, and automation preferred.
- CPA, CFA, or MBA desirable.
Governance and Leadership
- Serve as a strategic financial advisor to the CEO, executive team, and Board of Directors.
- Act as a key resource to Board Committees, supporting informed oversight of the bank’s financial performance, capital planning, and enterprise risk posture.
