Join our Business Operations team, the engine room behind Cancer Research Horizons, where innovation meets impact. You'll oversee the management of the patent portfolio and contract execution, along with a range of related business operational activities, form a vital part of the work towards Cancer Research Horizon’s overall goal of taking cutting-edge innovations from the lab bench to patient bedsides, in support of CRUK’s vision to bring forward the day all cancers are cured.
What will I be doing?
- Provide high‑quality administrative support to the Business Operations team, with a focus on contracts and agreements
- Manage and prioritise contract signing requests, ensuring accurate processing, recording and storage in line with internal procedures
- Create and maintain agreement and grant records in Minuet and FlexiGrant, ensuring key dates, documentation and statuses are accurate and up to date
- Support contract negotiations by liaising with internal teams and external partners
- Help maintain data integrity across systems, identifying and resolving missing, outdated or incomplete records
- Develop your skills by assisting with small contract negotiations, with the opportunity to take on responsibility for a small contract portfolio over time
- Coordinate the archiving and organisation of physical and electronic agreement documents
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders, managing expectations around timelines, requirements and responsibilities
- Contribute flexibly to the smooth running of the Business Operations team
What are we looking for?
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Experience providing administrative support within a team environment. Must have excellent attention to detail.
- Confident communicator, with strong written and verbal skills
- Comfortable working with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external
- Competent in Microsoft Office and quick to learn new systems
- Self‑motivated, able to work independently while being a collaborative team player
- Willing to support colleagues across a variety of activities
- A genuine interest in contract management and negotiation, with a desire to learn, develop and grow in this specialist area (experience welcome but not essential)
