Description
About Rowden
Founded in 2017, Rowden is a UK engineering company that builds mission-critical technology for defence, intelligence, and emergency response. It specialises in designing and building systems intended for use in edge environments, where communications, situational awareness, and resilience must be maintained despite limited connectivity.
Rowden designs, builds, and deploys edge systems end-to-end, bringing together mission systems engineering, manufacture of sensing capabilities, and the infrastructure required to network, provision, and manage large fleets of devices at scale. Now one of the fastest growing technology companies in the UK, Rowden employs more than 140 people, operates over 20,000 square feet of facilities, and exports its products globally.
Business Operations Graduates at Rowden
At Rowden, we’re scaling fast: launching new products, expanding into new geographies, and delivering mission-critical technology to customers who operate in demanding environments. To keep pace, we’re looking for driven graduates who thrive in ambiguity, learn quickly, and want to help build the systems that enable an engineering company to scale.
As part of the Applied Business Operations Graduate Programme, you’ll work on high-impact, cross-cutting initiatives that don’t come with a clear playbook. You’ll work collaboratively across the business to collate data points, develop a plan and execute.
You won’t be doing this alone. You’ll work closely with experienced leaders at Rowden, learning fast and building the judgement and delivery mindset needed to operate at pace in a mission-led environment.
If you're excited about pushing boundaries, thinking differently, and working through complex problems to deliver results, we want to hear from you.
Applications
The application window for the Business Operations Graduate Programme will formally open in Summer 2026, but we are accepting early interest now for those people that would like to submit their details to us. We will acknowledge all early applications but will not start reviewing candidates until we officially go live with the role in June.
Types of work you’ll be involved with at Rowden
As a Business Operations Graduate, you’ll work across engineering, product, delivery, and commercial teams to support the systems and execution that enable Rowden to scale.
Examples of work include:
- Supporting the launch of new products and capabilities by building the operational plans, coordination, and delivery rhythm required to execute.
- Designing repeatable processes that allow teams to scale without losing speed, clarity, or accountability.
- Working across engineering, product, and commercial teams to identify bottlenecks and drive execution against priorities.
- Pressure-testing expansion into new markets and mission sets.
How the Business Operations Graduate Programme works
You will complete several rotations across Rowden’s core business functions before specialising. The exact path is not rigid. We will shape it around your strengths, interests, and the needs of the company.
Possible rotations include:
- Product Marketing: supporting product development, prioritisation, launch planning, and cross-team coordination.
- Project Management / Delivery Operations: improving how complex programmes are executed and sustained.
- Revenue Operations: supporting commercial execution, pipeline systems, customer engagement processes, and growth discipline.
- Strategy & Special Projects: working directly on high-impact initiatives tied to scaling the business.

What we’re looking for
We are looking for graduates with high drive and learning velocity.
You might be a strong fit if you have:
- A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Foreign Languages, Philosophy, or Business.
- Strong analytical ability, including comfort with data, modelling scenarios, and structured problem solving.
- Learning agility and curiosity, with the ability to move quickly across unfamiliar domains.
- A bias toward execution, with evidence that you can deliver outcomes, not just ideas.
- Confidence working with diverse stakeholders, from engineers to external partners.
- Interest in national security, defence, or mission-critical technology environments.
This is a role for people who want their career directed toward work that is demanding, fast-moving, and purposeful.
