The Director of Sales is responsible for promoting and selling hotel accommodations, and event spaces to potential clients and groups. The Douglas WY Director of Sales’ primary focus is the Douglas Homewood Suites with the ability to promote and sell groups and events at any Erck Hotel. In addition to sales activities, the Sales Associate is responsible for all administrative tasks of the sales office.
DIRECTOR OF SALES DUTIES (To include but not limited to the following)
Client Prospecting and Relationship Building:
- Identify potential clients, including corporate accounts, event and group travel planners, and individual guests.
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients to ensure repeat business.
- Secure group and events business through both outside and inside sales activities.
Sales Presentations:
- Create and deliver sales presentations to clients, showcasing the hotel’s features, amenities, and services.
- Highlight the unique selling points and benefits of choosing the hotel for accommodation or events.
Customized Proposals:
- Develop customized proposals based on the specific needs and preferences of clients.
- Provide detailed pricing, terms, and inclusions for accommodations, meetings, and events.
Negotiations and Contract Management:
- Negotiate rates, terms, and contracts with clients to secure bookings.
- Ensure all contract terms are clear, agreed upon, and adhered to.
Event and Group Sales:
- Promote and sell event spaces for conferences, meetings, and other gatherings.
- Collaborate with event planners and coordinate logistics for group bookings.
Networking and Promotion:
· Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to expand the hotel’s visibility and connect with potential clients.
· Utilize various marketing channels, including email campaigns and social media, to promote hotel services.
Revenue Generation:
- Achieve sales targets and revenue goals set by the hotel management.
- Continuously monitor sales performance and adjust strategies as needed to meet objectives.
- Work closely with revenue team to assist in setting rates to achieve optimal revenue and occupancy.
Administrative/Office Duties:
- Create, distribute and manage all contract documents for groups and LNR clients.
- Maintain electronic and hard copies files of all sales related documents.
- Input and manage group and LNR information into property sales software programs (Salesforce and Hilton PMS systems.)
- Coordinate with GM and hotel staff to ensure all meeting rooms and events are managed in accordance with contracts.
- Work with GM and hotel staff to ensure all group and event payments are received as per contract terms.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in sales, sales management, or a related sales role.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Effective communication and client relationship-building skills.
- Develop knowledge of the hotel’s facilities, services, and event spaces.
- Proficiency in sales and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
- Analytical skills to assess market trends and make data-driven decisions.
- Computer skills including WORD, EXCEL, Outlook and ability to learn various hotel specific software programs.
- Organized and able to work with distractions and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work on many projects/tasks simultaneously.
- Flexibility to travel for client meetings and attend industry events.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a sales team.
- Self-motivation and goal-oriented approach to sales.
- Available to work outside normal business hours when needed to include evenings, weekends and holidays.
Pay: $40,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
