Job Summary
The Operations Analyst enhances operational and financial performance by analyzing cost structures, mining and transforming data, and developing business intelligence insights. They build cost models, create dashboards, and clearly translate complex data into actionable recommendations. By partnering with cross functional teams, they identify inefficiencies, improve processes, and provide analytical support for key strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze operational costs, variances, and profitability across departments, products, or projects
- Develop and maintain cost models, standard costing, and margin analysis
- Identify cost drivers, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives
- Extract, clean, and analyze large datasets from ERP systems, financial systems, and operational databases
- Perform trend analysis, root cause analysis, and scenario modeling
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across reports
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for operational and financial performance
- Translate business requirements into meaningful KPIs and visualizations
- Automate recurring reports and improve reporting efficiency
- Present insights and recommendations to operations, finance, and leadership teams
- Partner with operations, finance, supply chain, and IT teams to align data and metrics
- Support process improvement initiatives through data-driven analysis
- Assist with ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting , Finance, Economics, Operations, Data Analytics, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in cost accounting, operations analysis, or financial analysis
- Strong data mining and analytical skills
- Advanced experience with Power BI(DAX, data modeling, dashboard design)
- Proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, Power Query preferred)
- Experience working with ERP systems e.g. infor L N or similar
