The Opportunity:The CFO is a critical partner to the CEO in helping scale this exciting satellite telecommunications company globally. With shared accountability for capital strategy and fundraising, long-range financial planning and capital allocation, investor relations leadership, acquisitions and strategic transactions, international financial architecture, and commercial discipline including business line planning and unit economics. While fundraising is a key priority, it is underpinned by disciplined strategy, credible governance, and strong operational finance leadership, and the successful candidate will be highly proactive during fundraising phases with substantial, demonstrable capital-raising experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the development of the organisation’s capital strategy as well as translate product, constellation, and commercial roadmaps into a credible, investable capital plan.
- Lead CEO and Board discussions to drive alignment and sign-off; execute capital raises end-to-end through to closing.
- Maintain alternative funding pathways to preserve strategic optionality.
- Oversee ESOP strategy and administration, including sizing, dilution management, and alignment with long-term value creation.
- Own the 3–5 year financial plan as well as manage burn, runway, and scenario planning.
- Allocate capital to the highest-impact long-term value drivers as well as act as Company Secretary and primary financial interface with investors and the Board.
- Build investor confidence through clear, consistent communication as well as support the CEO in shaping external narratives.
- Identify and evaluate strategic and tuck-in acquisitions alongside CEO and COO as well as lead financial diligence, valuation, structuring, and integration planning.
- Oversee scalable financial structures across all regions as well as partner with the Global Head of Tax on structuring and compliance.
- Manage FX exposure and intercompany arrangements pragmatically.
- Define and track unit economics by device, customer, and vertical and improve pricing discipline, margin, and lifetime value as well as embed finance as a decision-support function.
