Sunmark Credit Union, a financially stable and community-rooted institution serving New York’s Capital Region for more than 85 years, is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its Executive Leadership Team. This is more than a finance role — it is a seat at the table, a succession-minded leadership opportunity, and a chance to influence the long-term direction of a thriving, member-owned cooperative.
The Role
Reporting directly to the President/CEO, the CFO is a strategic partner and enterprise leader responsible for the credit union’s financial strength, balance sheet strategy, and risk framework. Just as importantly, this individual builds and develops high-performing teams, fosters accountability (“See It. Own It. Do It.”), and models a culture of excellence and service.
What You Bring to The Table
You are a strategic financial leader who sees beyond the numbers. You understand how to leverage the balance sheet to drive growth, manage risk, and position an institution for long-term success.
- 8+ years of senior-level financial leadership within a bank or credit union
- Deep expertise in ALM, liquidity strategy, investments, and enterprise risk
- Confidence in presenting to the Board and partnering with regulators
- A strong foundation in accounting and finance (Bachelor’s required)
- A collaborative leadership style that develops talent and builds accountability.

Compensation: $250,000 - 300,000 Annually
