Position Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is the senior financial executive of the bank and serves as a strategic partner to the CEO and the Board of Directors. The CFO is responsible for leading all financial and accounting functions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic insight to support the bank’s growth and stability. This role combines hands-on financial management with board-level strategic leadership and regulator interaction.
Core Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Advise the Board, CEO, and CCO on strategic financial decisions, growth initiatives, and capital planning.
- Develop and execute long-term financial strategies aligned with the bank’s objectives.
- Develop automated reporting of management and board documentation
- Seek and implement innovation ideas
- Provide financial analysis, modeling, and insights to support business and new product decisions, capital allocation, and performance management.
Financial Planning, Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee all accounting and finance functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and month-end/year-end close.
- Prepare accurate and timely GAAP financial statements and regulatory reports (Call Reports, UBPR, etc.).
- Along with the CEO and CCO, lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Ensure robust internal controls and compliance with FDIC and state banking regulations.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
- Serve as the primary finance contact for regulatory exams and audits.
- Maintain knowledge of banking regulations, CECL implementation, and industry best practices.
- Monitor financial risk and ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and banking standards.
- Manage to become “Audit Ready” regarding compliance and FDIC / UDFI Exams.
Treasury & Capital Management
- Manage liquidity, capital adequacy, and investment portfolios in coordination with the ALCO committee.
- Maintain banking relationships, optimize cash flow, and oversee funding strategies.
- Develop Treasury Management systems for our depository customers, including business accounts.
- Develop brokered deposit relationships and utilize brokered deposits to augment our overall deposit base.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop finance and accounting staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with other departments to support operational efficiency and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications
Education & Professional Credentials:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred
- Advanced degree (MBA, MSF, or equivalent) is a plus but not required
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and knowledge of GAAP, banking regulations, and financial reporting standards.
Experience & Skills:
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in a community or regional bank.
- Hands-on experience with GAAP accounting, regulatory reporting, and bank operations.
- Strong understanding of CECL, ALCO processes, capital planning, and liquidity management.
- Proven ability to interact effectively with regulators, auditors, and boards.
- Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills.
- High integrity, sound judgment, and executive presence.

Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary: $150,000 - $180,000, commensurate with experience
