We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer to drive the evolution and growth of our business. This key role will oversee all financial and administrative functions, including IT, while also leading the ongoing mergers and acquisitions strategy to expand our operations and further our efforts in vertical integration.
Reporting to the CEO and based in our Niagara Office, this individual will be a vital member of the C-suite team. They will lead operations to drive growth and profitability, develop and execute business strategies, manage quarterly reporting to ownership/board, and provide strong executive leadership.
This role will work collaboratively with the CEO to build the business and set the tone for organizational leadership, corporate governance, business integrity, and ethics, all grounded in sound business principles. Additionally, they will collaborate with operations, estimating and sales, project management, and merger and acquisition teams to understand and support their operational priorities and needs.

- Lead financial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy development.
- Oversee the accounting department to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Monitor and manage cash flow and the capital structure.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management and compliance framework.
- Build and maintain relationships with investors and other key stakeholders.
- Evaluate and drive cohesive business optimization processes, strategies and systems.
- Drive KPIs, communication and results orientated processes across various functional areas to effectively manage costs and meet bid margins.
- Implement thorough functional business reviews, focusing on performance metrics and strategic initiatives.
Candidate Qualities
- Ten+ years of strong financial leadership at a CFO level, with exceptional emotional intelligence.
- Master level business degree and/or accounting degree, progressively senior finance and accounting management experience mandatory.
- Financial leadership experience driving goals while efficiently managing operational costs.
- Track record of managing change driven by merger and acquisition activity to optimize systems and processes in a dynamic fast paced environment.
- Strong employee relationship skills and the ability to constantly monitor, understand and respond to employee needs.
- Ability to assist in creating and communicating a compelling vision for the Company and manage towards the vision, bringing the team with you.
- Demonstrated success in business requirements gathering and creating effective reporting tools and processes that meet the organizations needs.
- Demonstrated ability to build and mentor a high-performing management team with a focus on bench strength, safety culture, productivity, continuous improvement mind set, and strong corporate governance.
- Steady and well-balanced communicator with a high level of comfort to work effectively through challenges with the team.
