Segrera Associates is recruiting a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on behalf of a well-established nonprofit healthcare organization. This executive leadership role reports directly to the President/CEO and oversees the organization’s financial strategy, infrastructure, and long-term sustainability across a multi-site environment. The CFO will serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, providing financial oversight, revenue strategy, and operational guidance to support growth, evolving funding models, and complex reimbursement structures.
This is an on-site leadership position for the first 90 days. Following that period, there may be flexibility for a 1–2 day remote component based on performance and organizational needs.
Please note: Candidates must be located in or willing to commute within the greater Tampa Bay area. Out-of-state candidates will only be considered if able to relocate within 2–4 weeks of offer acceptance.
Essential Job Functions:
- Serves as a strategic financial partner to the President/CEO and executive leadership team
- Oversees all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, internal controls, procurement, and revenue cycle functions
- Leads long-range financial planning, scenario modeling, and sustainability initiatives
- Evaluates new business initiatives, service expansions, and funding opportunities for financial viability
- Provides oversight of billing, reimbursement strategy, payor relationships, and revenue optimization
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, grant, and nonprofit financial regulations
- Directs the annual audit process and maintains strong internal controls and fiscal governance
- Leads and develops a multi-functional finance team (12+ staff), promoting accountability and operational excellence
- Prepares and presents financial reporting and strategic insights to executive leadership and the Board
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required
- Advanced degree (MBA, MPA) or CPA preferred
- 6+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including prior CFO or senior executive-level experience
- Experience within nonprofit, healthcare, or similarly complex regulated environments required
- Demonstrated success managing multi-faceted revenue streams, including government reimbursement and grant funding
- Proven experience leading finance teams within multi-site or mid-sized organizations
- Strong board-facing presence with experience presenting financial strategy and performance metrics
