Electric Operations Analyst
Location: Shelbyville Operations Center
Work Schedule: Fully onsite, 5 days per week
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to provide both analytical and administrative support within the Electric Operations Department. This role is part of a collaborative team responsible for supporting operational activities, procurement processes, and the payment of material and contractor invoices. The ideal candidate will work closely with multiple stakeholders across Electric Operations to ensure accurate reporting, financial processing, and continuous operational improvement.
Key ResponsibilitiesReporting & Analytics
- Run reports, track performance goals, and communicate results to internal teams and external stakeholders (e.g., Safety Targets, Contractor Hours Worked, Matching OT).
- Proactively monitor, research, analyze, and act on data to identify key themes, risks, and trends within the Work Order (WO) portfolio.
- Develop Emergency Storm Accounting processes and communicate updates across the organization.
- Track data, perform analysis, and report on key performance metrics.
- Develop and maintain key relationships to support data-driven business decision-making.
Procurement & Financial Administration
- Create shopping carts on behalf of various groups for procurement of goods and services.
- Create purchase orders (POs) for contracts and material orders.
- Generate confirmations for payment of goods and services received.
- Process PO changes (e.g., funding increases, requestor changes).
- Manage accounts and process invoices supporting RI Electric Operations, including:
- EZ-Passes for vehicles
- New cell phone acquisitions
- Rental vehicles
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Overhead Line contracts to ensure accurate reconciliation of storm-related invoice payments.
Operational Support
- Support emergency storm efforts as assigned.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives focused on continuous improvement of Work Management.
- Challenge existing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Demonstrate initiative in delivering innovative, meaningful, and measurable business benefits.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Business or Finance required, or 1–5 years of relevant analyst experience (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools and Power BI is a plus.
- Experience with STORMS, PowerPlan, and SAP is a plus.
- Familiarity with the utility industry and utility-related financial accounting preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $30.00 - $35.50 per hour
