About Lightyear
We’re on a mission to make investing better for everyone in Europe. More specifically, we’re making it light years better (sorry… we had to!). We’re combining multi-currency accounts with unlimited access to global markets so that everyone in Europe can invest without sneaky hidden fees or unnecessary barriers.
In just four years, we’ve gone from idea to fully regulated in both the UK and EU, launched across 25 countries, raised $58M, and built an 80+ strong team from Europe’s top fintechs and startups.
We’re backed by a stellar line-up of investors – including Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sir Richard Branson, Mosaic Ventures, NordicNinja, and some of Europe’s top founders like Taavet Hinrikus (Wise), Jaan Tallinn (Skype), and Markus Villig (Bolt).
Description
Reporting directly to the UK CEO, you will act as a strategic force multiplier focused on accelerating Lightyear's growth in the UK market. You will own the commercial and analytical levers that drive user acquisition, product adoption, and top-line revenue growth.
What You Will Do
- Identify growth levers: conduct deep-dive analyses to figure out where our next million users will come from and which products will drive the most revenue.
- Commercial execution: own the rollout of new features from a business perspective. You will ensure that when we launch a product, the unit economics work, and we have the right partners in place to scale it immediately.
- Unit economics and pricing: build the models that define how we price our UK products. You will need to balance aggressive user acquisition with long-term profitability.
- Partner negotiation: lead high-stakes negotiations with the external partners that power our UK services. You are responsible for getting the best possible terms to keep our margins healthy as we scale.
- Cross-functional leadership: work across product, engineering, compliance and marketing teams to ensure everyone is aligned on the UK’s growth targets and removing any friction in the user journey.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience, or 2 years within a top-tier consultancy or a high-growth environment.
- Experience informing or making tactical and strategic decisions, with clear examples of how you have navigated thoughtful trade-offs.
- Proficiency in building cash-flow models in Excel and the ability to present analysis convincingly (SQL skills are a strong plus).
- A proven background in managing external stakeholders and negotiating commercial terms or agreements.
- A solid understanding of the investment world is preferred, though a proactive willingness to learn the industry is essential.
