Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Location: Elmira, NY area
Schedule: Day Shift
Compensation: $100,000 – $200,000 annually (depending on experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned financial executive to join the senior leadership team of a well-established organization in the Elmira, NY area. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role plays a critical part in shaping business direction, strengthening operational discipline, and supporting long-term growth.
The Chief Financial Officer will provide strategic and operational leadership across finance and closely related business functions, serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership while ensuring strong governance, performance visibility, and organizational alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of financial strategy, including forecasting, cash flow planning, capital deployment, and long-range planning.
- Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance with applicable standards and policies.
- Translate financial and operational data into meaningful insights, tracking key performance indicators and communicating results across the organization.
- Strengthen financial processes, tools, and systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Ensure appropriate risk management practices are in place to protect the organization’s financial and operational integrity.
- Provide oversight and coordination for legal and compliance matters related to commercial activity, contracts, and vendor relationships.
- Partner with internal and external IT resources to ensure secure, reliable systems that support business objectives and future growth.
- Guide workforce-related strategy in collaboration with leadership, including talent planning, development, and policy consistency.
- Support leaders across the organization through coaching, collaboration, and performance-focused partnership.
- Contribute to a strong workplace culture grounded in accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Actively participate in enterprise-level planning and decision-making to support sustainable, profitable growth.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships to align financial strategy with operational execution.
- Support initiatives that enhance operational performance, safety, and long-term competitiveness.
Background & Experience
- Advanced formal education in finance, accounting, business leadership, or a comparable discipline; professional credentials are strongly valued.
- Demonstrated success in senior-level financial leadership roles with responsibility for broad business decision-making.
- Experience supporting operations in a complex, hands-on operating environment such as production or industrial services.
- Previous involvement overseeing or partnering closely with human resources functions.
- Comfortable reviewing, interpreting, and advising on commercial agreements and business terms.
- Highly proficient with financial modeling, forecasting tools, and advanced spreadsheet analysis.
- Experience using modern technology—including automation or AI-enabled tools—to improve accuracy, efficiency, and visibility across business functions.
- Proven ability to lead with discretion, sound judgment, and a collaborative mindset in a fast-paced leadership environment.
