EssentialJobDuties
**FinancialManagement&Reporting**
- Responsibleforoveralladministrationofaccountingandfinancialoperations,includingrevenuecycle,generalaccounting,informationsystems,andfinancialreportinginaccordancewithcorporatepoliciesandprocedures.
- Managesaccountingcontrolsystemsandinternalauditstoensureaccurateandtimelyproductionoffinancialreports.
- Ensurestimely,complete,andaccuratefinancialrecordsinaccordancewithGenerallyAcceptedAccountingPrinciples(GAAP)andapplicableauditguidelinesofthefederalgovernmentandStateofVermont.
- Prepares,analyzes,andpresentsmonthlyfinancialreportsfortheorganization,itsprograms,andactivities;monitorsvariancesandreportstotheExecutiveDirectorandBoardofDirectors.
- Providesregularfinancialupdates,forecasts,andrecommendationstotheExecutiveDirectorandBoardtosupportinformeddecision-making.
- Overseesandreviewspreparationofallprogramsfinancialreportingrequiredforfundingsources.
- Overseesbankingactivitiesandactivelymanagescashflowtoensureoperationalliquidity.Developsreliablecash-flowprojectionsandreportingmechanismsandoptimizesbankingrelationshipstoenhancecashpositions.
- Overseescoordinationandactivitiesofindependentauditors,ensuringallA-133auditissuesand403(b)compliancemattersareresolved,andthatannualfinancialstatementsmeetGAAPandallfederal,state,andcontractualrequirements.
**Budgeting&FinancialPlanning**
- Prepares,oversees,andreviewstheannualOperatingBudgetandCapitalBudget(s)toensureprogrammaticsuccessandcompliancewithallcontractualandregulatoryrequirements.
- Developstoolsandsystemstoprovidecriticalfinancialinformationtoleadershipandrecommendsstrategicactions.
- Interpretslegislativeandprogrammaticrulesandregulationstoensurecompliance,disseminatesrelevantupdates,andmonitorsadherence.
- Monitorschangesinlegal,regulatory,andadministrativeenvironmentsandadjustsinternalprocedurestomaintaincomplianceandoptimizeresults.
- Participatesindevelopingnewbusinessandfundingopportunities,includingevaluatingcost-effectivenessanddraftingprogrammaticbudgets.
**StrategicLeadership&Governance**
- ServesasakeymemberoftheSeniorLeadershipTeam,assistingtheExecutiveDirectorindecisionsonNKHSsstrategicdirection,financialoperations,andmajorpolicydevelopment.
- ActsasfinancialliaisontotheBoardofDirectors,providingexpertiseontheorganizationsfinancialpositionandparticipatinginrelevantboardcommittees.
- Develops,distributes,andsupportsdivisionalandadministrativestaffinimplementingfinancialprotocolstoensureorganizationalintegrityandeffectivedecision-making.
- WorkscloselywithVermontCarePartners(VCP),thestate-wideCFOgroup,andStateofVermontagenciestopromotetheDesignatedAgency(DA)systemandensureadequatefundingforservices.
- RepresentsNKHSprofessionallyininternalandexternalcommitteesandintra-agencymeetings.
- Fosterscollaborationacrossdepartmentstosupporteffectivefinancialoperationsandorganizationalsuccess.
**OperationsOversight&Compliance**
- SupervisesControllerinmanagingbilling,accountsreceivable,accountspayable,andintegrationofbillingdatabetweenelectronichealthrecordandaccountingsystems.
- Coordinatescontractnegotiationsandexecutionwithfunders,vendors,andcollaborativeserviceproviders,assessingcontractbenefitsandadvisingonprogrammaticdesignandimplementationstrategies.
- Overseestheorganizationsliabilityinsuranceprogramandconductsongoingriskanalysis.
- Reviewsefficiencyandeffectivenessofemployeebenefitprogramsandseekscost-effectivesolutionsthatmaintainquality.
- Ensuresstronginternalcontrolsareinplacetosafeguardorganizationalassetsandmaintainfinancialintegrity.
