Interim CFO / Controller (Consulting Engagement – 6–9 Months)
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on financial leader to step in as an Interim CFO / Controller for a 6–9 month consulting engagement. This role is ideal for a strategic yet tactical finance executive with a strong professional services background and deep experience in project-based environments.
The organization operates within a healthcare-focused marketing environment, so experience in healthcare marketing, healthcare services, IT services, or similar project-driven industries is highly preferred. The consultant will provide financial leadership, stabilize and optimize processes, and partner closely with executive leadership during this engagement period.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial strategy, forecasting, and reporting throughout the engagement
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including month-end close, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial controls
- Manage revenue recognition and reporting within a project-based business model
- Provide strategic financial guidance to executive leadership to support operational performance and growth
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements
- Evaluate and optimize financial systems, processes, and reporting infrastructure
- Partner cross-functionally with department leaders to align financial performance with business objectives
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CFO, Controller, or senior financial leader within a project-based professional services organization
- Healthcare marketing agency experience strongly preferred (healthcare or IT services experience also considered)
- Strong expertise in professional services finance and project accounting
- Required: Extensive hands-on experience with NetSuite
- Preferred: Experience with HubSpot and Workfront (Adobe timekeeping/productivity platform)
- Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in an interim or consulting capacity
This is a 6–9 month consulting engagement requiring a strong accounting leader who can quickly assess, stabilize, and enhance financial operations in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
