Outstanding opportunity for a CFO with broad leadership experience to join a well-established municipal services organization known for operational excellence and a world-class culture.
This person will lead finance and administrative functions while serving as a strategic business partner to the Executive Director and Board and providing the financial and organizational leadership needed to support significant capital investment and long-term operational priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead Finance, Accounting, AP, Payroll, Billing and Collections, Human Resources, Customer Service, and related administrative functions.
- Direct budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, rate development, treasury, investments, and long-term financial planning.
- Provide financial leadership for capital projects, contracting, purchasing, and infrastructure investments.
- Oversee external audits and required governmental, financial, bond, and regulatory reporting.
- Develop financial and administrative policies related to budgeting, rates, compensation, benefits, purchasing, and business operations.
- Provide financial and operational reporting to executive leadership and the Board.
- Lead HR and risk management activities, including compensation, staffing, employee relations, policy development, and compliance.
- Strengthen financial controls, systems, processes, and administrative service delivery.
- Partner across the organization to improve performance, accountability, and operational effectiveness.
Requirements include:
- MBA or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with CPA designation.
- 7+ years of progressive financial and administrative leadership experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory or management role.
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, engineering, municipal services, or another capital-intensive environment.
- Strong background in budgeting, accounting, financial analysis, forecasting, controls, and strategic planning.
- Working knowledge of capital projects, contracting, purchasing, collections, and project-related financial management.
- Experience leading functions beyond Finance, ideally including Human Resources and Customer Service.
- Governmental accounting experience is preferred, although senior private-sector financial leaders with the ability to transition into a public-service environment will also be considered.
- Experience working with executive leadership, governing boards, auditors, and external stakeholders.
- Strong financial modeling, Excel, financial systems, and business software capabilities.
- Collaborative leadership style with a strong focus on accountability, service, and continuous improvement.
