Job Purpose
VES is seeking a highly organized, detail‑oriented Business Operations Manager to support our Data Center Engineering organization. In this critical role, you will drive operational excellence, cross‑functional alignment, and strategic execution across the organization. You will partner closely with teams such as Finance, HR, Legal, and IT.
A key part of this position includes providing high‑level executive and administrative support to the SVP, Data Center Engineering, enabling smooth day‑to‑day operations at the leadership level. This role is ideal for someone who is both strategic and hands-on; someone who anticipates needs, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and demonstrates discretion, initiative, and strong analytical thinking.
Key Responsibilities
Nature of Duties and Responsibilities:
Operational & Strategic Support
- Oversee daily business operations to ensure alignment with Data Center Engineering goals and priorities.
- Analyze operational performance, identify trends, and develop strategies to improve productivity, reduce costs, and optimize workflows.
- Collaborate with Finance, HR, Legal, IT, and other teams.
- Drive execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring timelines, milestones, and budgets are met.
- Maintain business documentation, dashboards, and reporting packages for senior leadership.
- Develop presentations, executive communications, and other strategic collateral.
- Identify operational risks and support mitigation plans.
- Standardize procedures and documentation to promote organizational consistency.
- Support budget planning, forecasting cycles, and vendor management activities.
- Lead change‑management efforts and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Administrative & Executive Support
- Provide direct administrative support to the SVP, Data Center Engineering, and their leadership team.
- Manage complex calendars, prioritize meeting needs, and ensure timely communication and coordination.
- Arrange domestic and international travel, including detailed itineraries and logistics.
- Prepare, submit, and track monthly expense reports; assist team members with approvals.
- Coordinate logistics for internal meetings, offsites, conferences, and department‑wide events.
- Oversee conference room scheduling, visitor hosting, and catering arrangements.
- Manage onboarding logistics and serve as liaison between IT, Facilities, HR, and new hires.
- Track department purchases, reconcile expenses, and support budget oversight.
- Handle sensitive information with the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in business operations, project management, or a similar operational role.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Strong ability to distill complex information and present it clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Ability to transform raw data into actionable insights and compelling narratives.
- Demonstrated strength in organization, prioritization, decision‑making, and problem‑solving.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
- Highly self‑motivated, able to work independently with minimal direction.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; skilled in presentation development and public speaking.
- Experience driving process improvements and cross‑functional initiatives.
- Familiarity with process improvement and change‑management methodologies (preferred).

Salary Range (annual): $85,000 - $95,000
Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
