ADD VALUE - THE ROLE
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) leads the Financial Services Business Unit and supports Singleton Council’s leaders in informed, strategic financial decision-making. The role shapes and delivers Council’s Long Term Financial Plan, fostering a strong organisational culture and driving efficiency to achieve long-term objectives.
The CFO safeguards the Council’s financial sustainability, holding end-to-end accountability for budgeting and financial performance in alignment with the financial strategy. This includes ensuring the organisation has the tools and capability to model future scenarios and guiding decision-makers in understanding and interpreting them.
As a member of the Leadership Team, the CFO ensures leaders are well-informed and appropriately challenged on financial implications and options, while strengthening finance’s role as a trusted business partner. The position also contributes to setting strategic direction, managing risk, and promoting engagement, safety and performance across the organisation.
You will be a Chartered Accountant or Certified Practicing Accountant, have extensive experience leading the financial management of an organisation and a proven strategic mindset. Key to your success will be your ability to persuade and influence the Executive and Leadership Teams.
This position is offered on a Permanent, Full-time basis working 35 hours per week. The total remuneration package for this position is $217,663 per annum inclusive of vehicle allowance, award allowances and superannuation.
