A Day in the Life of the Chief Revenue Officer
As CRO, you'll own the strategy behind sales, marketing, pricing, and revenue management across the company's business lines. You'll partner with business line leaders and the executive team to set enterprise growth goals, sharpen pricing and forecasting, and build the sales and marketing engine that powers long-term profitability. This is a chance to shape company-wide strategy at the highest level and leave a lasting mark on where the business goes next.
Responsibilities include:
- Partnering with the executive team to set enterprise growth and commercial strategy, including market expansion and customer acquisition/retention
- Establishing revenue goals, KPIs, and investment priorities across people, technology, marketing, and sales
- Setting strategy and performance standards for the sales organization, including pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM improvements
- Evaluating sales structure, talent, and compensation to hit growth targets
- Directing marketing, creative services, and brand experience to generate demand
- Establishing pricing philosophy, governance, and dynamic pricing strategies
- Partnering with Finance on revenue budgets, forecasts, and ROI for commercial investments
- Building dashboards and performance frameworks to give leadership clear visibility into results
- Using data, analytics, and AI/BI tools to sharpen forecasting and decision-making
- Recruiting, coaching, and developing leaders across sales, marketing, and revenue management
- Representing the company with owners, partners, and industry stakeholders
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in revenue generation or management, sales, marketing, or business development, including leading leaders and cross-functional teams
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sales, finance, or a related field (advanced degree a plus)
- Track record of building and executing enterprise or multi-business revenue strategies with measurable financial results
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn complex data into clear strategy
- Proven ability to build and lead cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization, including executive and governance groups
- A demonstrated commitment to mission-driven, values-based leadership
