Job Overview
Heglar Creek Companies is seeking a strategic, disciplined, and growth-oriented Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee and strengthen the financial leadership of our multi-entity organization. This executive role is responsible for managing the financial health, reporting accuracy, strategic planning, and long-term financial direction of the company.
The CFO will work closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and executive leadership team to support operational excellence, ensure financial integrity, and help guide continued expansion across our diverse business units.
Heglar Creek companies include operations in electrical contracting, plumbing, construction, agriculture, dairy, cattle, and related industries throughout Southern Idaho.
Responsibilities
- Lead the financial strategy and planning across all Heglar Creek entities
- Partner with the CEO and Board to support long-term strategic growth and capital planning
- Provide financial insight and recommendations to support executive decision-making
- Develop and monitor financial forecasts, budgets, and performance metrics
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and financial performance
- Oversee preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure timely and accurate consolidated reporting across all entities
- Monitor financial performance and provide regular executive-level reporting
- Maintain strong internal controls and financial processes
- Manage cash flow planning, forecasting, and liquidity across all entities
- Oversee relationships with banks, lenders, and financial partners
- Assist with financing, lending, and capital structuring as needed
- Oversee accounting functions, systems, and financial processes
- Provide leadership and direction to controller and admin staff
- Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements
- Coordinate with external CPA firms, auditors, and financial advisors
- Serve as a member of the executive leadership team
- Support business managers in understanding financial performance

Requirements
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years in senior financial leadership (Controller, Finance Director, or CFO level)
- Strong financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning skills
- Experience managing financial operations across multiple business units or entities
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making ability
Preferred:
- CPA designation or MBA
- Experience in construction, agriculture, manufacturing, or contracting industries
- Experience working with privately held or family-owned businesses
- Experience with QuickBooks, ERP systems, and financial reporting systems
- Experience working with executive leadership and Boards of Directors
