Position Summary: The Chief Financial Officer is Unitech’s senior steward of financial strategy and fiscal integrity. The CFO oversees accounting, treasury, audits, budgeting, and forecasting. This leader partners with the President/CEO, COO, and functional heads to allocate resources, optimize tuition and program economics, and ensure Unitech’s long-term sustainability and growth.
Job Description
1. Accounting Operations & Financial Close
· Maintain accurate financial records and dependable reporting processes
· Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
· Maintain general ledger accuracy and chart of accounts structure
· Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
· Oversee tuition revenue recognition and deferred revenue tracking
· Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records
· Monitor inter-campus and departmental allocations
· Document accounting policies and procedures
· Ensure financial system data integrity
2. Cash Flow & Treasury Management
· Ensure institutional liquidity and payment continuity
· Monitor daily cash position and banking activity
· Develop short- and long-term cash forecasts
· Coordinate vendor payment scheduling and approvals
· Administer corporate card programs (Ramp)
· Maintain payment authorization controls
· Support leadership planning with cash projections
· Review payroll, taxes, and benefits with HR Director and external payroll processor
3. Regulatory & Institutional Financial Compliance
· Support institutional accountability and financial responsibility requirements
· Monitor institutional financial ratios and supporting documentation
· Prepare financial information for accreditation and regulatory reporting
· Assist with default rate management efforts
· Maintain documentation readiness for audits and program reviews
· Coordinate financial responsibility submissions with CPA firm
4. Financial Reporting & Analysis
· Provide leadership with reliable and useful financial insight
· Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis
· Develop campus-level profitability reporting
· Analyze program margins and operational performance
· Support enrollment and retention sensitivity modeling
· Track budget vs actual performance
· Translate operational plans into financial reality
· Assist in budget development and monitoring
· Support tuition pricing and program viability analysis
· Provide financial impact analysis for leadership decisions
5. External CPA & Audit Coordination
· Serve as primary internal liaison for accounting review and assurance
· Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
· Coordinate technical accounting research with external CPA firm
· Support tax reporting preparation
· Maintain audit readiness year-round
6. Internal Controls & Risk Management
· Protect institutional stability through structured processes
· Maintain approval workflows and separation of duties
· Reduce key-person dependency through documentation
· Implement financial process controls and safeguards
Qualifications
· Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
· Minimum 10 years progressive accounting experience
· Experience preparing financial statements and supporting audits
· Strong Excel and financial systems proficiency
· Ability to manage multiple deadlines with accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
· Active CPA license preferred
· Experience in higher education or regulated environment
· Multi-location accounting experience
· Budget modeling and forecasting experience
· Payroll reconciliation experience
· ERP or accounting system administration

Pay: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
