Our client is a private equity-backed UK-based design and manufacturing business with international supply chain operations. The company operates within a growing technology-enabled product market and has experienced significant expansion in recent years, tripling in size since investment. With revenues and headcount growing, the business is now entering the next phase of its scale-up journey.
The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a commercially focused and hands-on Chief Financial Officer to play a key role in driving performance and supporting continued growth.
Working closely with the CEO, Chair and investors, the CFO will professionalise and optimise the finance function while acting as a strategic partner to the leadership team. This is a broad role requiring both operational delivery and strategic input within a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance function
- Deliver robust financial reporting, KPIs and board-level insight
- Own budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting processes
- Manage cashflow and optimise working capital
- Drive margin improvement and commercial performance analysis
- Ensure compliance across financial, tax and governance matters
- Manage investor reporting and stakeholder relationships
- Support commercial decision-making, pricing and contractual negotiations
- Oversee systems and data improvements to enhance reporting and visibility
- Contribute to strategic planning and value creation initiatives
Candidate Profile
- Has operated at CFO or Finance Director level (strong first-time CFO candidates will be considered)
- Has experience in growing £5–50m revenue businesses, within product-led, assembly or manufacturing environments
- Has led improvements in financial systems, reporting and controls
- Brings strong operational capability alongside strategic thinking
- Ideally has experience within a private equity-backed setting
- Is able to be office-based in Dorset at least three days per week
