The
Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a strategic, results-driven executive responsible for the overall financial health, strategy, and performance of the organization. This role provides executive leadership over all finance and accounting functions while serving as a key advisor to the
CEO, Owners/Shareholders, and Executive Leadership Team.
The CFO plays a critical role in driving long-term financial planning, ensuring strong internal controls, supporting growth initiatives, and scaling financial operations across a multi-entity healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Executive Financial Leadership- Serve as the senior financial executive responsible for financial strategy, vision, and long-term planning
- Advise the CEO, COO, Owners/Shareholders, and executive leadership on financial risks, growth opportunities, and business decisions
- Develop and execute financial strategies that support organizational goals, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth
- Present financial results, forecasts, and strategic insights to the Board and executive leadership
Accounting & Financial Operations Oversight
Provide executive oversight of all accounting functions, including:
- Annual audits and year-end close
- Accounts receivable, billing, and collections
- Accounts payable and payroll
- General ledger and financial reporting
- Internal controls and accounting policies
- Multi-entity accounting and financial consolidation
- GAAP compliance and regulatory reporting
Banking, Treasury & Cash Management- Oversee banking relationships, treasury operations, and cash flow management
- Approve banking structures, credit facilities, authorized signers, and risk controls
- Manage debt, financing arrangements, and capital structure to support growth
Financial Reporting & Governance- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial statements
- Establish and maintain strong financial controls, policies, and governance frameworks
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, audit standards, and regulatory requirements
Contract & Revenue Administration- Provide financial oversight of contract terms, pricing models, and revenue structures
- Ensure contracts align with financial policies and compliance requirements
- Oversee financial risk assessments related to contracts and revenue streams
Financial Systems & Technology- Provide strategic leadership over financial systems, reporting tools, and data governance
- Approve system upgrades, integrations, and automation initiatives
- Ensure scalability, data integrity, and reporting accuracy
Tax Strategy & Compliance- Oversee year-end close and coordination with external tax advisors
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements
- Lead tax planning strategies to optimize the organization’s tax position
Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategic Analysis- Lead annual budgeting and long-term financial planning processes
- Develop multi-year financial models, forecasts, and scenario planning
- Support investment decisions, capital allocation, and valuation analysis
- Perform financial analysis requested by Owners/Shareholders and executive leadership
Risk Management & Compliance- Identify financial, operational, and strategic risks
- Develop mitigation strategies and oversee insurance programs
- Ensure appropriate safeguards, controls, and regulatory compliance
Leadership & Collaboration- Lead, mentor, and develop finance and accounting teams
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement
- Partner cross-functionally with department leaders to support business initiatives
- Communicate financial policies, updates, and best practices across the organization
- Participate in executive meetings, strategic planning, and company functions
- Travel as required and participate in customer and prospective customer meetings
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Qualifications
Required:- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Minimum 5+ years in a CFO - Chief Financial Officer or equivalent executive finance leadership role
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and corporate finance
- Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
- Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and communication skills
- Experience managing multi-entity or multi-location healthcare / therapy or allied health operations
- Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels
Preferred:- MBA and/or CPA
- Progressive Leadership experience within healthcare organizations
- Demonstrated commitment to healthcare finance leadership
