Tavira Bio is a new stealth mode biotech focussed on rare hard to treat cancers and fibrotic diseases, bringing in clinical derisked assets for further development . We are in process to licence potentially 3 new programs & seek a dynamic CFO initially part time in return for founder equity to take the company forward with the rest of the founding team.
Role Description
This is an initially part time role 8for equity) then progressing to full-time remote/hybrid role for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The CFO will oversee all financial operations, including financial planning, financial reporting, and management of financial statements. Responsibilities include developing strategic financial plans, analyzing financial data to support decision-making, ensuring compliance with regulations, and working collaboratively with leadership to drive the financial success of the organization. Fundraising with the CEO / Chairman is a key aspect of the role & liaising with our Investor Relations team.
Qualifications
- Private to Public fundraising experience required (VCs, Crossover & IPOs preferred)
- Expertise in Financial Planning and Finance to develop and implement effective strategies.
- Proficiency in analyzing and preparing Financial Statements and Financial Reporting.
- Strong Analytical Skills to evaluate financial performance and support data-driven decisions.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to guide and collaborate with teams.
- Proven experience in senior financial management roles is strongly preferred.
- Professional certification such as CPA, CFA, or equivalent is a plus.
- Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is an advantage.
