Role Overview – Chief Finance Officer
SYNA Group is seeking a seasoned Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to lead the entire finance function of the Group and act as a strategic partner to the promoters. The CFO will own financial strategy, governance and performance across all business verticals and legal entities.
- Title: Chief Finance Officer
- Reporting to: Chairman, SYNA Group of Companies
- Team: Leads group finance & accounts teams across mining, hospitality, education and construction verticals
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Group-level financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and long-term business planning across all verticals.
- Oversee timely and accurate finalisation of accounts, consolidation of Group financials, and periodic MIS for the Chairman and leadership.
- Drive working capital management, treasury operations, cash flow planning and banking relationships, including term loans, project finance and credit limits.
- Implement strong internal controls, SOPs and risk management frameworks suitable for mining operations, hospitality units, educational institutions and project sites.
- Ensure full compliance with Companies Act, Ind AS/Indian GAAP, Income Tax, GST and all applicable financial, statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Lead tax planning and optimisation, and manage assessments, audits and litigation (direct and indirect taxes).
- Evaluate and support major investments, capex, acquisitions, expansions and diversification, preparing robust financial models and business cases.
- Champion finance digitisation (ERP, automation, dashboards) and build strong, insight-driven MIS for decision-making.
- Build, mentor and retain a high-calibre finance and accounts team across multiple locations.
Candidate Profile
Education & Credentials
- Chartered Accountant (CA) mandatory.
- Additional qualifications such as CS/CMA/MBA (Finance) will be an advantage.
Experience
- 15+ years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- At least 5–7 years in a senior leadership role (CFO / Head – Finance / VP – Finance) in a diversified or large single-business group.
- Strong exposure to mining/mineral processing is highly preferred; experience in hospitality, construction/real estate, or education will be a strong plus.
- Experience in promoter-led / family-owned businesses with multi-location operations.
