Overview
We are a rapidly growing Merchant Cash Advance (MCA) platform seeking a highly analytical, hands-on Chief Financial Officer to lead the organization through its next phase of financial transformation, institutional readiness, and scalable growth.
This is a strategic and operational leadership role, not a passive oversight position. The CFO will be responsible for building financial infrastructure, addressing legacy inefficiencies, implementing forward-looking systems, and serving as a key partner to ownership and external investment stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience within alternative lending or a comparable financial services environment, with a proven ability to combine technical expertise, financial strategy, and operational execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare institutional-grade financial statements, reporting packages, and projections for sophisticated investment partners
- Develop and maintain forward-looking financial models aligned with portfolio performance and capital deployment strategies
- Oversee and enhance revenue recognition, portfolio accounting, and syndication reporting processes
- Ensure financial reporting accurately reflects tax implications and aligns with strategic objectives
- Lead proactive and compliant tax strategy in coordination with external advisors
- Build scalable financial infrastructure and eliminate key-person dependencies across financial operations
- Oversee remediation of legacy accounting issues and implement best-in-class reporting systems
- Partner with executive leadership on capital strategy, cost of capital optimization, and long-term growth planning
- Manage external CPA firms and advisors, ensuring performance, accountability, and alignment
- Establish transparent, standardized processes to ensure accessibility and integrity of financial data across the organization
- Drive structure, discipline, and operational consistency across the finance function
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance leader within financial services, alternative lending, specialty finance, or a similar high-velocity capital environment
- Demonstrated ability to prepare financials and reporting for institutional investors
- Strong expertise in tax implications as they relate to financial reporting and strategy
- Track record of building and scaling financial infrastructure within a growing organization
- High level of technical proficiency and experience modernizing financial systems
- Experience leading financial cleanup initiatives and implementing structured processes
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation
- Experience in Merchant Cash Advance (MCA), factoring, or comparable capital-intensive lending models
- Familiarity with portfolio modeling and structured finance
- Experience working within a close-knit, high-accountability team environment
