A financially strong, growth-oriented community bank in Western Ohio is conducting a confidential search for a Chief Financial Officer. This executive will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team and a strategic partner to the CEO and Board of Directors.

The Chief Financial Officer will:
• Advise the CEO and Board on financial performance, capital strategy, and long-term planning
• Provide forward-looking insight to support profitable growth across retail and business banking lines
• Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and transparency of all financial reporting
• Chair the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) and oversee liquidity, interest rate risk, and capital adequacy strategy
• Support strategic initiatives including branch expansion, technology investment, and potential acquisition evaluation
Primary Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the Bank’s mission, vision, and community-centered philosophy. Provide clear interpretation of financial results and trends to executive leadership and the Board. Support enterprise decision-making through rigorous financial modeling and scenario analysis.
Financial Planning & Profitability
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Conduct profitability analysis across branches, product lines, and business segments. Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, manage cost structure, and optimize return on assets and equity.
Accounting & Regulatory Oversight
Ensure compliance with GAAP, state and federal banking regulations, and internal policies . Direct accounting operations, financial reporting, call reports, audits, and regulatory examinations. Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard Bank assets and uphold regulatory standing.
Asset/Liability & Capital Management
Lead ALCO and manage balance sheet strategy, liquidity positioning, investment portfolio oversight, and interest rate risk mitigation. Monitor capital adequacy, loan loss reserves, and long-term capital planning.
Operational & Systems Excellence
Evaluate and enhance financial systems, reporting tools, and automation efforts to improve efficiency and data transparency. Partner with IT and operational leadership to strengthen analytics and reporting capabilities.
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Maintain effective relationships with regulators, auditors, and external financial partners.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a strategic yet hands-on banking executive who combines strong technical acumen with executive-level communication capability.
Qualifications include:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; MBA or CPA strongly preferred
• 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including senior-level banking experience
• Deep expertise in retail/community banking operations
• Experience leading ALCO, capital planning, and interest rate risk management
• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and bank reporting requirements
• Demonstrated ability to present financial insights at the Board level
