Carolina Nephrology, PA is seeking an experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our leadership team as an Assistant Chief Financial Officer (Assistant CFO) in Greenville, South Carolina. This Assistant CFO role will oversee finances related to the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) / Office-Based Labs (OBL) programs.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Management
Oversee financial management functions including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
Support executive leadership with financial analysis and strategic planning
Assist in identifying opportunities for financial optimization and operational improvements
Accounting, Payroll & Compliance
Manage tax reporting, payroll oversight, and financial compliance
Oversee joint venture accounting activities and reporting
Maintain compliance with healthcare financial regulations and HIPAA requirements
Executive & Operational Support
Manage the organization's 401(k) retirement plan administration
Support technology management related to financial systems
Train to serve as operational backup to the CFO
Required Qualifications
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master of Accounting (MAC) highly preferred. Bachelor's degree in accounting accepted.
Minimum 7 years of accounting/finance experience in a healthcare environment
Experience in medical practice finance strongly preferred. Experience with an ASC/OBL highly desired.
Demonstrated financial leadership and strong analytical capabilities
High integrity and professional judgment
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of healthcare financial operations and medical terminology
Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and financial modeling
Ability to proactively identify operational and financial improvement opportunities

The nature of the crime and its relationship to the position.
The time since the conviction.
The number (if more than one) of convictions.
Whether hiring, transferring or promoting the applicant would pose an unreasonable risk to the business, its employees or its customers and vendors.
Procedure
Final candidates must complete a background check authorization form and return it to Human Resources.
Human Resources will order the background check upon receipt of the signed release form, and either internal HR staff or an employment screening service will conduct the checks. A designated HR representative will review all results.
The HR representative will notify the hiring manager regarding the results of the check. In instances where negative or incomplete information is obtained, the appropriate management and the director of Human Resources will assess the potential risks and liabilities related to the job's requirements and determine whether the individual should be hired. If a decision not to hire or promote a candidate is made based on the results of a background check, there may be certain additional Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requirements that will be handled by Human Resources in conjunction with the employment screening service (if applicable).
Background check information will be maintained in a file separate from employees' personnel files for a minimum of five years.
