The Seaport Chief Financial Officer (SCFO) at the Miami-Dade Seaport Department (PortMiami) is a critical senior management position. This position performs high executive work in overseeing the financial strategy, planning, and fiscal operation of PortMiami. The role is accountable for managing the Port’s multi-million-dollar operating and capital budgets, financial reporting, debt service planning, revenue forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
The SCFO ensures compliance with all financial regulations and internal controls while aligning fiscal policy with the Port’s strategic and operational goals. The position also leads coordination with external auditors, bond counsel, and financial advisors on audits, bond issuances, and financial disclosures. The incumbent provides leadership to finance-related divisions including accounting, grants, billing, procurement, and plays a key role in supporting public-private partnerships and capital investment initiatives. The Seaport CFO exercises considerable independent judgement and decision-making authority and serves as the key advisor to the department on financial matters, providing data driven insight and recommendations.
