The Opportunity
Privatal is currently retained by a mid-market private equity fund in the search for their new Group CFO in the healthcare service sector, where we are seeking a new Group CFO to partner closely with the CEO in driving a full-scale transformation of the business after new ownership. This is a high-impact leadership role with full responsibility for building a best-in-class finance function and preparing the company for its planned buy-and-build strategy.
The CFO Profile
- Proven track record of building and implementing a finance function from scratch, including reporting, planning, and performance management in a high-growth environment
- Demonstrated experience transforming founder-led organisations to private equity standards, including governance, processes, and reporting discipline
- Prior experience as a senior finance leader (CFO or equivalent) within private equity-backed portfolio companies
- Experience operating in multi-site and/or multi-entity business models; healthcare outpatient experience strongly preferred
- Strong capability in establishing robust financial reporting, KPI frameworks, and decision-support systems across complex organisations
- Hands-on experience in executing buy-and-build strategies, including sourcing, evaluating, and integrating acquisitions
- Solid background in LBO environments, including financial modelling, financing structures, and investor communication
- Proven ability to manage external financing processes and maintain relationships with lenders and financing partners
- Experience delivering best-in-class reporting to management, board, and investors, with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and actionability
- Ability to act as a strategic partner to the CEO, contributing to growth strategy, capital allocation, and expansion initiatives
- Fluent in German and English
The CFO is not only responsible for financial management but also contributes to the company's
strategic development. He serves as a sparring partner for the CEO, shareholders, and the advisory board on all economic matters and actively shapes the expansion, particularly in buy-and-build. In addition, an entrepreneurial participation in the target company is planned.
Only successful candidates will be contacted based on the investor's set of requirements.
