We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina. This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong background in industrial and commercial construction, who can drive financial performance, ensure compliance, and support strategic decision-making. As a key member of the executive team, the CFO will oversee all financial operations and collaborate closely with project management and operations teams to ensure efficiency and profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Lead financial planning, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management for the organization.
- Manage project costing, profitability analysis, and working capital optimization across multiple industrial construction projects.
- Develop and execute strategic plans related to capital, financing, and risk management, including overseeing debt/equity funding and banking relationships.
- Drive cost control measures and margin improvement initiatives across all projects and subsidiaries.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, including construction-specific accounting practices such as contract billing and lien waivers.
- Mentor and manage the finance and accounting team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Evaluate and implement financial systems to automate processes and improve reporting capabilities.
- Partner with operations and project teams to assess project bids, contract terms, and financial risk exposure.
- Coordinate external audits, insurance programs, bonding requirements, and tax strategies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive finance leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a CFO, VP Finance, or Corporate Controller role within the construction industry.
- Expertise in construction accounting practices, including project cost controls and compliance.
- Proven track record of leading financial planning, capital management, and process improvement initiatives in an industrial construction environment.
- Experience with construction accounting systems such as Viewpoint, Sage 300, Procore, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of banking, bonding, and insurance requirements for large-scale construction projects.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different business units.
- Strategic thinking, analytical abilities, and problem-solving skills to drive organizational success.
