Role Description
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as the senior executive responsible for the financial stewardship, strategy, and sustainability of Sublette County Health (SCH), a rural healthcare system operating as a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) with affiliated clinics, long-term care, EMS, and related services.
The CFO is a strategic business partner to the CEO and Board of Trustees and provides leadership across financial management, reimbursement optimization, risk management, regulatory compliance, and enterprise-wide decision support. This role requires deep expertise in rural healthcare finance, Medicare cost-based reimbursement, and the operational realities of managing a complex public healthcare entity.
The CFO plays a critical role in ensuring SCH’s long-term financial viability while supporting quality patient care for the Sublette County community.
Qualifications
- · 7–10 years of progressive healthcare finance leadership
- · Experience in a Critical Access Hospital or similar rural health environment
- Proficiency in Financial Planning and developing long-term fiscal strategies
- Expertise in preparing and analyzing Financial Statements and conducting Financial Reporting
- Strong background in Finance and Analytical Skills, particularly in identifying and resolving financial challenges
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements for financial operations
- Exceptional leadership, decision-making, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership, stakeholders, and external partners
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA or MBA is preferred
- Previous experience in healthcare financial management or hospital operations is advantageous
