Privately owned, multi-business group operating across various business sectors is seeking a
Director of Finance (CFO) to join its senior leadership team.
This is a hands-on executive finance role requiring strong technical accounting capability, tax
planning expertise, and confidence operating in regulated and highly scrutinised environments.
The Group includes operating and asset-holding entities across:
- Aviation (helicopter and fixed-wing charters, Flight school and hangar mgmt.)
- Hospitality & Retail (restaurant, brewery, cannabis retail)
- Real Estate (commercial assets, rental properties, workforce housing development)
- Luxury Charter (superyacht)
- Financial Services (equipment leasing; regulated MSB/PSP payment services using advanced settlement infrastructure for domestic and FX)
- Telecoms (servicing large infrastructure providers)
To provide senior financial leadership across the group, with responsibility for:
- Consolidated accounting and financial reporting
- Group-wide tax planning and optimisation
- Financial governance, controls, and standardisation
- Compliance readiness in regulated and compliance-intensive businesses
- Oversight of the finance execution team
- Produce combined and consolidated financial accounts across the group
- Develop group-wide tax planning and oversee preparation and filing of corporate tax

- Coordinate and manage interactions with external accountants and advisors
- Review and standardise financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Improve auditability, reporting quality, and regulatory readiness
- Support financial compliance obligations in regulated businesses
- Provide senior oversight to the Controller and finance execution team
- Collaborate with related entity teams in Canada, Ireland, and USA
Qualifications
- CPA with minimum 5 years post-qualification
Experience with:
- Multi-entity groups
- Owner-led businesses
- Tax planning and structuring
- Regulated or compliance-heavy environments
- Technically strong, pragmatic, and comfortable operating hands-on
