Scope
As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the candidate will lead and oversee the organization’s fiscal management in alignment with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and standards established by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). This role is responsible for ensuring the financial health of the organization by providing financial reporting, forecasting, and strategic insights that support sustainable growth and informed decision-making. Additionally, the selected candidate will serve as a key strategic partner to the executive team.
Responsibilities
- Operates as a business partner to the President, Chief Operating Officers and the General Managers of all business entities.
- Assesses organizational performance against both the annual budget and company’s long-term strategy.
- Develops tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.
- Assists in establishing yearly objectives and meeting agendas, and selecting and engaging outside consultants (auditors, investment advisors).
- Oversees long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with the company’s strategic plan, especially as the organization considers sponsorships, potential acquisitions, and collaborations with external organizations.
- Serves as a member of the Executive Team.
- Prepares and maintains regular financial planning reports; monthly profit and loss forecast by division; cash flow forecast.
- Develops and executes analysis of various business initiatives.
- Develops and maintains capital budget.
- Develop strong relationships with banking partners.
- Oversees cash flow, investments, and asset management.
- Creates and utilizes predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization’s operations and business plans.
- Coordinates the development and monitoring of budgets and various financial reports.
- Coordinates all audits including internal controls and financial processes.
- Serves as an escalation point for Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable issues.
- Ensures company policies, procedures, and actions adhere to all legal requirements and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or business; MBA is a plus.
- Certified Public Accountant preferred.
- Proven track record of at least 10 years in experience in a senior financial management role, partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies.
- Advanced competency in back office software accounting system.
