Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – UK (International Scope)

A high-growth, international services group is seeking a commercially driven Chief Financial Officer to partner closely with the CEO and executive team. This is a pivotal leadership role with responsibility for shaping financial strategy, driving performance, and supporting expansion across UK and US operations.
This is not a traditional, reporting-led finance role. The successful candidate will act as a strategic architect of growth - bringing clarity to complex operations, strengthening financial governance, and enabling data-led decision making across the business.
Responsibilities:
- Lead group-wide financial strategy, planning, and performance management
- Partner with the CEO to translate ambition into robust, scalable financial models
- Oversee international finance operations, reporting, and governance
- Drive profitability, margin improvement, and commercial accountability
- Lead funding strategy, banking relationships, and investor engagement
- Support US growth initiatives, including investment and potential exit scenarios
- Develop M&A strategy, including acquisition, due diligence, and integration
- Strengthen cash flow, working capital, and financial controls
- Embed data-driven insights and KPI frameworks across the organisation
- Play a key role in long-term value creation, succession planning, and exit readiness
Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance leader within the service industry (essential)
- Strong knowledge of the US market, with a demonstrable track record of supporting international expansion
- Experience operating in Private Equity environments, including fundraising and investor engagement
- Highly commercial, strategic thinker with the ability to influence at board level
- Experience in complex, multi-entity and/or international environments
- Strong operator with the ability to drive performance across non-financial teams
- Data-driven, forward-thinking, and confident challenging senior stakeholders
- Experience with M&A, funding, and investor engagement highly desirable
This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of a growing international business, with significant influence at board level and exposure to strategic decision-making across multiple markets.
UK-based with regular international travel required.
