Our client is a real estate investment firm. They seek a Chief Financial Officer to join their Manhattan, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Direct accounting operations across the management company, funds, and property-level entities
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Approve financial statements in accordance with income tax basis and U.S. GAAP, including consolidations and complex allocations
- Manage investor reporting processes in coordination with fund administrators
- Supervise accounting for acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and other non-routine transactions
- Oversee fund and property-level accounting, including capital activity, allocations, and portfolio reporting
- Lead audits, maintain internal controls, and ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with tax advisors on structuring, compliance, and review of tax allocations and K-1s
- Manage treasury activities, including capital calls, distributions, and entity-level cash flows
- Develop systems, processes, and team performance through technology improvements, integrations, and leadership
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience
- Real estate industry experience required
- Fund accounting and property accounting experience preferred
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- CPA required
