Job Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for managing the organization's financial strategy, planning, and operations. This role oversees financial performance, reporting, risk management, and capital allocation, ensuring the organization's financial health and compliance with regulatory requirements.
The CFO works closely with the CEO and executive leadership to drive business growth, optimize profitability, and support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational objectives
Support long-term strategic planning, investment decisions, and business expansion
Provide financial insights to guide executive decision-making
Oversee capital structure management and funding strategies
2. Financial Operations & Reporting
Manage accounting, treasury, budgeting, and financial reporting functions
Ensure timely and accurate financial statements and management reports
Monitor and analyze key financial metrics, including ROE, ROA, and liquidity ratios
Oversee forecasting, scenario planning, and variance analysis
3. Risk Management & Compliance
Oversee enterprise risk management including credit, market, liquidity, and operational risks
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and reporting requirements (central bank, securities regulator, insurance authority)
Collaborate with internal audit, compliance, and risk teams
Maintain strong internal controls and governance frameworks
4. Financial Performance & Profitability
Drive cost management, operational efficiency, and profitability
Evaluate business performance and ROI of investments, projects, and acquisitions
Optimize capital allocation and working capital management
Support mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships
5. Leadership & Team Management
Lead and mentor finance and accounting teams
Promote a high-performance, collaborative finance culture
Oversee succession planning, talent development, and workforce strategy
Foster cross-functional collaboration with other business units
6. Stakeholder Management
Serve as primary liaison with investors, auditors, regulators, and banks
Communicate financial performance, forecasts, and strategy to Board and executive leadership
Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders including rating agencies, auditors, and financial institutions
Key Requirements
Education
Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration (MBA preferred)
Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or ACCA are highly desirable
Experience
12–18+ years of experience in financial leadership roles within banking, financial services, insurance, or investment sectors
Proven experience as CFO, Finance Director, VP of Finance, or equivalent
Strong track record in financial planning, reporting, risk management, and strategic decision-making
