We are looking for an accomplished Fractional Chief Financial Officer to support financial leadership for a Contract opportunity based in Brattleboro, Vermont. This role will guide core finance operations, strengthen reporting accuracy, and provide strategic perspective to help leaders make informed business decisions. The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise in cash flow management, capital planning, month-end close, and financial systems, along with the ability to improve processes in a practical and measurable way.
Responsibilities:
• Lead day-to-day financial oversight, ensuring sound fiscal management and reliable support for organizational planning and decision-making.
• Direct cash flow forecasting and monitoring activities to maintain liquidity and anticipate short- and long-term funding needs.
• Manage capital planning efforts by evaluating financial priorities, advising on resource allocation, and supporting sustainable growth strategies.
• Oversee the month-end close process to deliver timely, accurate financial results and maintain strong accounting discipline.
• Prepare and review financial reports that provide clear insight into performance, risks, and opportunities for leadership stakeholders.
• Utilize QuickBooks Desktop and related business systems to maintain financial records, improve reporting workflows, and support operational efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to streamline finance-related processes and implement improvements that enhance accuracy, consistency, and productivity.
• Provide strategic financial insight to leadership by interpreting trends, assessing outcomes, and recommending actions aligned with business objectives.
• 5+ years of experience in a senior finance or CFO-level role with broad responsibility for accounting and financial operations.
• Demonstrated expertise in cash flow analysis, capital management, and financial reporting within a business environment.
• Strong command of month-end close procedures, including maintaining accuracy, meeting deadlines, and resolving reporting issues.
• Hands-on experience working with QuickBooks Desktop and other business systems used to support finance functions.
• Ability to translate financial data into strategic insights that inform planning, budgeting, and executive decision-making.
• Proven track record of improving financial processes and establishing more efficient, well-controlled workflows.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a Contract leadership assignment.
