Job Summary
The Chief Financial Officer coordinates and directs financial reporting, billing, fundraising, and accounts payable functions. This position works directly with the Chief Executive Officer to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This position requires a self-directed and highly motivated individual.

ROLE
The primary focus of the Chief Financial Officer position is to work directly with the Chief Executive Officer to establish financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. This position ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions and keeps an eye on the day-to-day accounting functions. This position will help maximize opportunities and ensure the organization makes informed decisions without taking unnecessary risks.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
1. Oversee Accounting, Finance, Billing, and support Fundraising/Donor Relations functions.
2. Ensure accurate and timely month, quarterly, and year end close.
3. Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
4. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, including payroll taxes, CAP reporting, cost reports, W2’s, 1099’s, 401K census reporting, etc.
5. Coordinate provisions of information to external auditors for the annual audit, 990 return and con report.
6. Prepares the Annual Budget with the Chief Executive Officer for approval by the Finance Committee, the Executive Committee and finalization by the full Board of Directors.
7. Send financial reports to the Board of Directors and attend board committee meetings to present and discuss the report quarterly at the Board of Directors meeting upon request.
8. Help identify grant writing opportunities and oversee applications
9. Coordinate provisions if information to 401K advisors for annual 5500 report filing.
10. Maintain an ‘open door’ policy and good communication channels with all staff members to promote a positive and healthy work environment.
11. Maintains ethical behavior and confidentiality.
12. Other duties as assigned.

1. Available to travel, either locally or for educational seminars.
2. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORKING CONDITIONS
Requires sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending, stretching or lifting. This position requires the ability to work under high stress conditions for long periods of time. Ability to hear normal range of voice, drive, and negotiate steps, walkways or housing not designed for handicap access. May require contact with individuals with communicable disease. Able to work in normal office environment, use office equipment, and prepare written reports.
