Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial operations with confidence and clarity. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our accounting department, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting and operations. You will play a key role in strategic decision-making and financial planning, working closely with ownership and senior management to drive the company's success.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the organization’s financial function. Including managing budgets, monitoring cash flow, optimizing capital structure, and ensure effective utilization of financial resources.
- Work closely with senior management and ownership to ensure financial plans and strategies align with the organization’s goals.
- Evaluate and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular financial analyses to identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities that could impact the organization.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and liaise with auditors to provide necessary documentation and support.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations, advising management on potential impacts and opportunities.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification required.
- Proven experience (10 years) in accounting or finance roles, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve goals.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Applicant must reside in Fort McMurray
