Ambassador Personnel, Inc. has an exciting direct hire opportunity for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Position Summary
The CFO serves as a key member of the executive leadership team, providing strategic financial leadership for a mission-driven private nonprofit university in Georgia. Reporting directly to the President, the CFO oversees all financial operations, ensures fiscal sustainability, and supports the institution’s long-term growth and academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic financial leadership aligned with the university’s mission and goals
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and analysis
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, audits, and regulatory requirements
- Manage cash flow, investments, institutional debt, and endowment performance
- Lead financial reporting and present insights to the Board of Trustees
- Oversee departments including finance, accounting, procurement, and risk management
- Partner with academic and administrative leaders on resource allocation and program development
- Strengthen financial systems, controls, and operational efficiency
- Support fundraising initiatives and collaborate with advancement teams
Qualifications
- Masters’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in higher education or nonprofit sector
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards (GAAP) and regulatory compliance
- Proven experience working with boards, audits, and complex financial structures
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
Preferred Experience
- Experience in private higher education
- Familiarity with endowment management and donor-restricted funds
- Current CPA Licensure
