Position Overview:
A well-established, mission-driven organization is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead financial strategy, operations, and long-term planning. This executive will serve as a key partner to leadership and the board, providing financial insight, oversight, and guidance to support sustainable growth and organizational success.
This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, overseeing all financial functions including accounting, reporting, budgeting, compliance, and risk management. The CFO will also play a critical role in supporting diverse financial activities, including lending or investment-related operations.
Location: Northeast Nebraska (Onsite)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead financial strategy, planning, and overall fiscal management of the organization
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and transparency of financial statements and reporting
- Manage internal controls, compliance, and risk mitigation strategies
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and the board on financial performance and strategy
- Oversee financial operations related to lending, investments, or portfolio performance as applicable
- Lead audit processes and maintain relationships with auditors and regulatory bodies
- Develop and mentor finance and accounting teams to support organizational goals
- Support cross-functional initiatives, program budgeting, and long-term financial planning
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Work Environment:
- Onsite role based in Northeast Nebraska
- Executive leadership position with regular interaction across departments and leadership teams

Qualifications:
- Ten or more years of progressive financial leadership experience
- Strong background in financial management, accounting, and compliance
- Experience working in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations preferred
- Experience with lending, underwriting, or financial risk management highly valued
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex financial operations
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or advanced financial designation preferred
- Experience working with boards or executive leadership teams
- Background supporting multi-entity or program-based financial structures
