Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial operations of a rapidly growing Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Look-Alike in Gallup, NM. This vital executive role involves overseeing all financial aspects of the organization, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and driving fiscal sustainability. The CFO will provide expert financial guidance, develop strategic initiatives, and foster a culture of transparency and accountability. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience in healthcare finance, and a passion for advancing community health through sound financial management.
Duties
- Lead the organization’s financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support sustainable growth and operational excellence.
- Oversee all accounting functions including corporate accounting, governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, and technical accounting standards such as GAAP, IFRS, IAS, ASC 606, and COSO frameworks.
- Manage revenue cycle processes to optimize revenue management, billing accuracy, and cash flow.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), regulatory reporting requirements, and other applicable standards.
- Direct treasury management activities including cash flow analysis, investment strategies, and risk management to safeguard organizational assets.
- Lead risk analysis initiatives to identify potential financial vulnerabilities related to market fluctuations, regulatory changes, or operational risks.
- Oversee financial report writing and interpretation for senior leadership and board members to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Supervise financial software systems and tools to enhance reporting efficiency and data accuracy.
- Drive strategic planning efforts aligned with organizational goals while managing expenses and implementing cost control measures.
- Support mergers & acquisitions activities by conducting due diligence, valuation analysis, and integration planning.
- Collaborate with management on business development opportunities to expand services or partnerships that benefit community health outcomes.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of SOX compliance, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit financial regulations.
- Proven expertise in revenue management, profit & loss analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control strategies.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance principles including risk analysis, treasury management, market analysis, and fiscal management.
- Exceptional leadership skills with experience supervising finance teams in complex healthcare environments.
- Skilled in financial report writing and interpretation for diverse audiences including senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency with advanced financial software systems and tools for data analysis and reporting.
- Deep familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards and IFRS/IAS accounting frameworks.
- Ability to negotiate effectively with vendors, partners, and regulatory agencies while supporting business development initiatives.
- Excellent analytical skills combined with strategic thinking to guide organizational growth sustainably.
- Strong understanding of revenue cycle management within healthcare settings coupled with technical expertise in cost accounting and tax accounting practices.
