Job Description: Business Operations Manager
Position Summary
We are looking for a detail oriented, experienced Business Operations Manager to lead our business in both the front-end guest experience and the back-end business operations to ensure a smooth guest experience. This role is designed for a nimble leader who can move seamlessly from high-level marketing and retail buying to the granular details of HR, employee scheduling, and software administration. It’s a role of many hats and quick decision making, never a dull moment!
The position is year-round, but is busiest during the winter months.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
- Department Management: Oversee the daily operations of the Lodge, Food & Beverage, Rental Shop, and Ticket Office. The position would have four direct managerial reports during the winter season.
- Service Standards: Maintain high operational standards for safety, cleanliness, and guest experience in the lodge and rental facilities.
- Retail Buying: Act as the lead buyer for the retail/ gift shop as well as the rental operation. This includes managing inventory levels, vendor relations, and merchandising.
HR, Payroll & Software Administration
- Human Resources: Manage the process of the full seasonal employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, and ongoing staff level monitoring.
- Payroll: Oversee accurate and timely payroll processing for a seasonal and year-round workforce.
- Software Management: Serve as the "Super User" for resort software (POS, Ticketing, and CRM), The expectation is that this position would be the “go to” for problems and questions from staff and be the point of contact between the Ski Area and our various software vendors.
Marketing and Events:
- Marketing Campaigns: Guide the execution of seasonal marketing across social, email, and web to drive pass sales and peak-day attendance. This would be very data lead.
- Events & Community: Lead on-mountain event planning and manage local partnerships to foster brand loyalty.
Data Collection & Business Strategy
- Data Strategy: Utilize existing systems to capture, and capitalize on, guest data across all touchpoints (Ticket Office, Rental Shop, F&B, and Web).
- Performance Analysis: Analyze Key Performance to provide weekly/monthly/annual insights to ownership and help set both long term and short-term strategy.
- Reporting: Create as needed, unique reports to track seasonal progress against historical benchmarks.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years managing people, and processes in a dynamic setting. Ideally in resort, hospitality, or recreation management, but not strictly necessary.
- Analytical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience analyzing data and the ability to think critically, change your mind and take another course as the world around you changes.
- Technical Savvy: Very comfortable with POS/Ticketing systems, digital marketing platforms and IT in general.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding the principals of accounting, of retail margins, inventory turnover, and F&B cost control.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage a large seasonal team and remain calm under the pressure of peak winter operations.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
