Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Location: Bedfordshire (3 days per week in-office)
Salary: £150,000 + Car Allowance + Performance Bonus
About the Business
We are a leading multi-site retail business with a turnover of circa £150m. Following a successful period of growth, we have recently secured significant reinvestment from our Private Equity partners. We are now entering an ambitious new chapter focused on estate optimisation and strategic scaling.
The Role
As CFO, you will be a key strategic partner to the CEO and the Board. You will lead a high-performing finance function in a fast-paced, private equity-backed environment. This is a high-impact role requiring a balance of technical rigour and commercial agility.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Partner with the Board to drive long-term value and growth.
- Team Management: Lead and develop a high-performing finance function of 15 professionals.
- Cash Management: Lead complex cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
- Banking & Debt: Manage relationships with banks and external lenders, ensuring covenant compliance.
- PE Relations: Navigate intricate private equity funding cycles and reporting requirements.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage a diverse group of stakeholders, including PE investors and board members.
- Operational Excellence: Drive commercial insight to improve multi-site profitability.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience: Proven track record as a CFO or Finance Director in a multi-site environment (Retail, FMCG, or Consumer Brand).
- Leadership: Significant experience managing and motivating a finance team of a similar scale.
- Funding Knowledge: Deep understanding of Private Equity structures and funding lifecycles.
- Technical Skill: Expertise in debt management, banking covenants, and cash flow modelling.
- Agility: Highly resilient and comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving landscape.
- Communication: Strong influencer capable of managing complex stakeholder arrangements.
