Description
- Build strong, effective relationships with the Chair of Governors and the Chairs of Audit and Finance & Resources Committees.
- Lead the development and delivery of a robust, long‑term financial strategy aligned to the College's strategic objectives.
- Advise the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Governors on funding options, borrowing, grants and investment structures to support sustainable capital development.
- Provide visible, credible leadership to a high‑performing finance function, promoting professionalism, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Act as a full and engaged member of the Executive Leadership Team, contributing to collective leadership and organisational effectiveness.
Profile
A successful Chief Financial Officer should have:
- A strong background in accounting and finance within the not-for-profit sector.
- Professional qualifications in finance or accounting (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or ACA).
- Proven leadership in a number 1 finance role with the ability to manage and develop teams.
- Ability to build trust with the stakeholders and governors
- Ability to highlight issues and be solution orientated
- Excellent communication skills
