Head of West Coast GTM Recruiting – High‑Growth Venture Search Firm (SF / LA)
We’re partnering with a top‑performing, venture‑focused search firm (17+ people, fully remote US, SF/NY‑centric) to hire a Head of West Coast Go‑To‑Market Recruiting.
This is a senior IC + practice‑builder role for a high‑performing GTM recruiter who wants to own the West Coast book in a VC‑backed startup ecosystem, with real upside and autonomy.
The Firm:
- Boutique search business focused exclusively on VC‑backed technology companies (seed to Series C).
- Deep relationships with tier‑1 VCs and top‑decile founders; a meaningful portion of work arrives via warm introductions and referrals.
- Current team covers Engineering + GTM; this hire will lead West Coast GTM alongside an established East Coast function.
- Remote‑first, US‑wide team with hubs in SF, LA and NYC.
The Role – Head of West Coast GTM Recruiting
- Own the West Coast GTM desk: founders, first sales hires, AEs, AM/CS, RevOps and revenue leadership across seed–Series C.
- Blend of IC delivery + leadership: initially a hands‑on, high‑billing role with a clear path to build and mentor a small GTM team around you.
- Work the best part of the market: AI/ML, infra, dev tools, vertical SaaS, product‑led businesses – all VC‑backed, high‑intent mandates.
- Partner directly with founders & VCs: run full search cycles from intake and blueprint through to close and post‑placement support.
- Shape GTM strategy on the West Coast: input into which logos to target, how to split IC vs leadership work, and how the firm positions GTM in its broader offering.
You’ll be the go‑to person internally for West Coast GTM: anyone touching GTM in SF/LA will look to you for strategy, calibration and execution.
Who This Is For:
This role is ideal for 5–10 year GTM recruiters who are already operating in or adjacent to the venture ecosystem, for example:
- Agency / search recruiters
- Top performer at a GTM or SaaS‑focused search firm (e.g. sales, CS, revenue leadership)
- Comfortable with founder‑led, seed–Series C environments rather than pure enterprise / F500
- Used to running full‑desk or close to it, and ready to own a region/practice
- Internal / in‑house recruiters
- Senior GTM / Sales recruiter or Talent Partner in a VC‑backed tech company or VC fund
- Used to partnering with founders, CROs and VPs Sales on critical first‑in‑seat GTM hires
- Missing earning upside, autonomy and variety of a multi‑client, search‑driven environment
What’s common across both backgrounds:
- Track record of consistent high performance in GTM recruiting (multiple years at top of team or function).
- Experience in US SaaS / tech GTM hiring (founding AEs, first CS/AM, Sales Leadership).
- High EQ, comfortable advising founders and VCs (not just taking orders).
- Ambition to run a book and build something, not just execute tickets.
