Role Description The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a full-time, on-site role based in Donnelly, ID, responsible for leading all financial strategy and operations for Tamarack Resort. The CFO oversees budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning, ensuring alignment with the resort’s growth and capital investment goals. This role manages financial reporting and analysis, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and presents results and recommendations to executive leadership, ownership, and key stakeholders. The CFO directs accounting, cash management, and internal control processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and risk mitigation across all resort business units. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with department leaders on financial performance, optimizing revenue and cost structures, managing banking and lender relationships, and supporting strategic initiatives such as new developments, capital projects, and partnerships. The CFO also leads and mentors the finance and accounting team, promoting a culture of accountability, service, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Strong finance and financial planning skills, including experience with Financial Planning, Finance, and long-term budgeting and forecasting.
- Proficiency in Financial Statements and Financial Reporting, with a track record of producing accurate, timely reports for leadership and external stakeholders.
- Advanced Analytical Skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data, develop insights, and translate analysis into clear recommendations.
- Extensive leadership experience managing finance and accounting teams in a multi-entity or hospitality, resort, or real estate environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory compliance; experience working with auditors, lenders, and external partners.
- High level of proficiency with financial systems, ERP platforms, and advanced Excel or similar analytical tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and executive leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field required; CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred.
