A St. Louis–based firm with a national reputation for supporting nonprofit organizations is hiring a Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
In this role, you’ll work directly with a diverse portfolio of nonprofit clients while leading an accounting team of 5–7 professionals. You’ll serve as both a strategic advisor and a hands-on leader, helping organizations strengthen their financial operations and make informed decisions.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as a CFO and strategic advisor to multiple nonprofit clients, guiding financial decision-making
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of 5–7 accountants, including coaching, feedback, and performance management
- Oversee monthly financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and clarity for client leadership
- Present financial insights to executive teams and boards of directors
- Support clients with budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and long-term financial planning
- Build strong client relationships by proactively addressing questions and identifying risks and opportunities
- Ensure effective processes, deadlines, and coordination across all client engagements
To Succeed, It Will Help If You Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA preferred
- 5+ years of experience in public accounting, including work with nonprofit organizations
- 3+ years of team leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting practice
